Róisín

Róisín is a 21 page comic I first drew in 2008, about a young woman who fights a giant snake. All the pages were drawn on 10x15" bristol board, and the majority of the inking was done with a Pentel Pocket Brush Pen. Here's what I had to say about it at the time:

Five hundred years ago, in what is today Ballyvaughan, Ireland....

A young woman, Róisín, is the daughter of her clan’s chief. She anticipates the coming responsibility of leading her people, but does she have to prove herself to them first? If she were a boy, she thinks, nobody would doubt her right to lead.

But the quickly approaching threat doesn’t care if she’s male or female; something desires the complete and total destruction of all Ireland... and in the end, Róisín will be all that stands between it and her people.
